He dreams of science and world history,
Of empty greatness and of little trifles;
He creates culture and then destroys
Meanwhile the earth turns on itself,
Moves on, and goes around the sun.

Von eitler Größe und von kleinem Kram;
Er baut Kultur und macht sie dann
Dieweil die Erd sich um sich selber dreht,
Sich fortbewegt und um die Sonne geht.
